Meet Your Flower Mound TX Dentist, Dr. William Wyatt and his team!

Hello.  We'd like to formally introduce ourselves to you and welcome you to our Flower Mound Texas Dental Practice.  Please feel free to reach out to any of us with any questions or comments that you may have.  It is our pleasure, and welcome to our dental family.

Meet Dr. Wyatt.

Dr. Wyatt is actively involved in many facets of dental continuing education, participating in dental conferences, symposia, and fellowships. In 1986, he received his Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry, which requires at least 500 hours of additional continuing education and the passage of a rigorous written exam. Dr. Wyatt has studied with some of the most respected dentists in the nation and the world. The Texas State Board of Dental Examiners requires 12 hours of continuing education every year to maintain licensure.   Dr. Wyatt regularly averages at least 200 hours per year; 1600% more than he’s legally required to do. This affords him access to the latest technological advances in cosmetic, laser, and restorative dentistry.  Dr. Wyatt is a member of The American Dental Association, The Texas Dental Association, The North Texas Dental Society, The Academy of General Dentistry, The American Association of Cosmetic Dentistry, The American Dental Implant Association and The American Dental Institute. He is currently pursuing Accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the American Dental Implant Association, and is attending Dr. John Kois’ Creating Restorative Excellence seminar series. Fewer than 5% of dentists nationwide achieve this level of education.

Dr. Wyatt has spoken to the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce, the Medical Protocol Committee for Emergency Medical Services for Denton County and surrounding communities, and the athletic trainers and coaches for the Lewisville Independent School District. He is currently helping set up the oral trauma protocol for the above committee and Lewisville Independent School District Athletic Department. Dr. Wyatt is also a published author on DentalTown.

In his spare time, Dr. Wyatt is an avid amateur musician, singing jazz around the area as a soloist and singing bass/baritone in the a cappella jazz vocal chorus, The New Collection, of which he is a founding member. In fact, most of his office is decorated with a jazz theme and jazz is mostly what you’ll hear on the office sound system. Dr. Wyatt also enjoys reading (mostly science, math and history), photography, woodworking, rollerblading, cycling, CrossFit, and spending time with his wife Jennifer and his two grown children, Christopher and Bronwyn. Jennifer is the social media coordinator for Dr. Wyatt’s practice and holds a degree in voice from the University of Kansas. She also sings with The New Collection as well as singing classically in the area. You might see her from time to time in the office, as she’s always around to help. Chris is an airline pilot for SkyWest Airlines and Bronwyn is a professional musician, holding an artist-in-residence position at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Meet Kristy.

KristyKristy joined Dr. Wyatt's team in 2009. She graduated from the Dental Hygiene school at Tarrant County College in 2002. Her prior career included 12 years in the insurance industry as an underwriter. After being in the corporate world in underwriting and sales, she decided to seek a new career path that would offer the rewards of helping people on a daily basis. After only a few minutes with her you’ll be glad that she made the jump from the world of cubicles to health care. (Coincidentally, this career change decision came after one month of marriage to her husband Rusty. She was able to quit the corporate world and go back to school. With two young children at the time, no doubt she has a fantastic husband!)  Kristy has three children now; two grown sons and a young daughter. Her older son is getting married soon, having graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Landscape Architecture. Her younger son graduated from University of Texas at Arlington in 2012 with a BA in Finance and just started his first “real” job at Atmos Energy. With two down and one to go, her daughter Gracie is in elementary school in Coppell. Gracie enjoys softball, dance, and grudgingly takes piano. She’s quite a little firecracker and we love it when Kristy brings her to the office. Kristy and her family are active in the community of Coppell and spend most of their time going to softball games, playing at the park and being involved in their church.

Kristy takes her approach to life into practicing dental hygiene. Her main goal is for patients to feel comfortable and well cared for while understanding the importance of their oral health. No finger pointing and floss lectures in her chair! She’s found that “guilting people” doesn’t work very well. Her philosophy when seeing a patient who has been unable to see a dentist in several years is, “So glad you decided to see us. What can we do to make you comfortable?”. She goes to great lengths to help patients take the next step in caring for their teeth. And sometimes... that may be just time spent talking about fears, concerns and needs!

Meet Jennifer.

JenniferJennifer Stivanson Wyatt is Dr. Wyatt’s wife, and the Social Media Director for Flower Mound Dental. She comes to our office after 10 years in the medical field, specifically in Medical Coding.  Jennifer holds a degree in Voice Performance from The University of Kansas; she sings jazz and classical musical around the DFW area. Jennifer is an avid cyclist and loves all aspects of Olympic Weight Lifting. Jennifer is passionate about health, wellness, and nutrition, and will be starting a program in the spring to obtain a Holistic Nutrition Consultant Certification. You may notice that there are many recipes and health articles posted on the Flower Mound Dental Facebook page!  If you see Jennifer around the office, or out on the road on her bike, don’t hesitate to say hello; she loves getting to know new people!

Meet Jaime.

Jamie - Certified Dental AssistantJamie joined Dr. Wyatt’s practice in October of 2007. She was instantly welcomed as a valued member of the team. Along with her excellent people skills and quick wit, Jamie brings enthusiasm for her career that is absorbed by the entire team. She has experience in general and cosmetic dentistry along with endodontics, orthodontics, and oral surgery.Jamie’s knowledge, genuine compassion and understanding help patients feel at ease and secure during their procedure. She and Dr. Wyatt have worked so well together and for so long that it’s almost spooky. Sometimes it seems as if she can read his mind; handing him tools and materials before he’s even thought of what he needs next. Kidding aside. this sort of rare rapport helps him to concentrate on taking care of the patient’s dentistry, knowing Jamie’s there to take care of everything else. If you have any post-op procedural issues, please don’t hesitate to call Jamie. She is here to help you.

Meet Mary.

Mary - Business ManagerMary became part of Dr. Wyatt’s team in 2005. She started her dental career in 1978 in Terre Haute, Indiana while attending Indiana State University. She was a dental assistant for 10 years before moving into Dental Office Administration. Her years working with scheduling and dental insurance after her dental assisting days were done make her an invaluable part of Dr Wyatt’s team. There are not many dental questions you might have that Mary won’t be able to answer. Whether you are a patient or are thinking of becoming a patient, please don’t hesitate to call Mary with any of those questions you might have.

Meet Lauren.
